SKYLINE WESLEYAN CHURCH: $6,500,000
Our firm was contacted by a Church to represent them concerning an ongoing construction defect claim against its Construction Manager and various Contractors. Litigation had already existed for approximately four years before our firm was brought in. Over the period of approximately one year, our firm was able to reexamine all issues, present new repair methodologies and eventually enter into a global settlement agreement with approximately fifty parties. The settlement of this case involves both repairs being performed by the defense as well as significant cash contributions. The overall settlement value of this case was estimated at $6.5 Million Dollars.
PACIFIC MESA BUSINESS PARK HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION: $450,000
This is a commercial condominium business park. The board of directors was concerned over cracks which appeared in some of the exterior walls of the units, as well as some water which was coming up through concrete slabs. It was established during the litigation that there were initial construction defects with the walls and drainage.
HILTON V. ROSS: $57,500
This case centered around a piece of raw land which was sustaining minor slope failures. Plaintiff recovered adequate funds to repair the slopes and reimburse them for other concerns.
